Life is a journey everyone takes
Considering the time I can start early or late
The certainty of it: is where I belong
Challenges are what bound us

I have been trekking this path a little while,
I am yet to see what those before me I’ve seen
While taking the path I’m taking

The way back has been tricky,
I do not care to go back, I would keep pushing forward
Where I am told there is a trophy, only if I keep striving
As I get to my destination.

I shall rest when I get to my home
I am but a sojourner, who must not close eyes,
Else the mobs attack to take the gems with me.

Death

What do you say to the god of death?
Not today!
Iku came knocking at my door
With no respect, he enters
With sledgehammer raised
Enveloped with fog that choked the
Breathe out of my lungs.

I looked pleading to be given a little more time
Seconds, perhaps.
Iku, not ready for my plead
Raised its weapon to diverge
Me.

Alas! I woke up to total darkness.
Panting, my sweats dripping down my body
As Iku said to me, “another day, my friend!”
But I said to Iku, “Not today!”

I walk in my white dress towards the aisle, my heart throbs and I could hear it loud

I could feel my heart coming out of my chest; I stared down at the fake bouquet in my hands

I told the bride’s maids to put on their brightest face; I…

In her strength is drawn little or less of her remain
She draws pleasures in keeping her home
A keeper of her husband’s most precious treasures

Her darkened skin glow to speak of her heritage
A woman who builds the foundation of her home
On charity.
Her steps swift as she goes about her doings

A proud African woman who endures all she
Eludes herself of enjoyments dashing out all
To the little ones around her, her love ceaseless
She looked into the eyes asking for more love.

Don't Touch Me

“Don’t touch me,” he shrieks, with fierceness on his face

“Stay back,” she shouts, with fear, taking a step back

Sympathy and empathy lost amidst the catastrophe we find ourselves.

The virus went viral, both online and offline

Though the world is positive at this sensitive time

Every one wishes…

The world is revolving every minute, the only constant thing is change, everyone must change, every situation must change and every life must change. It all depends on one decision either to change for good or vis-à-vis.

As it is commonly experienced for human to face challenges whether finance, emotions or mental. The change involved in those challenges lies in one’s ability never to be carried away by those challenges. Challenges are experiences we need to pass through in order to know the true worth of one’s life. Challenges are part of a driving force of change and the more we remain stagnant, the more our challenges stay with us.
